When we had our first call with this sweet family, they mentioned they let their kids skate inside. That comment stuck with us while designing each space. They had just bought this home in Costa Mesa which had a small closed off kitchen with dark cabinets and not much natural light. The bathrooms were lifeless and dated, and their laundry area was visible in their living room. We opened up the kitchen and were able to create beautiful large pocket doors to enclose the laundry area. Even with the addition of black to reflect the client’s rock-and-roll vibe, the space still feels warm and inviting.
